Emirates Islamic marks 43rd UAE National Day with 'heartbeat' campaign on giant LED national flag

November 24, 2014

Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, will mark UAE National Day with a 'heartbeat' campaign.

The bank has announced that it will install a giant LED national flag from Friday, 28 November to Thursday, 4 December 2014 at Citywalk Mall, on Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah. Members of the public are invited to participate by recording their heartbeat simply by placing their hand on a purpose-built kiosk. They also have the option of being photographed. Photographs and heartbeats will immediately light up a few pixels on the flag.

As more people participate, all the colours of the flag will be illuminated on the installation, with the UAE national flag finally revealed in all its glory, as a beacon of the UAE's diversity and solidarity.

"As a long-standing player in the UAE, we felt the need to honour UAE National Day with a community initiative that invites everyone to participate," said Jamal Bin Ghalaita, Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Islamic. "This initiative allows the public to literally light up the UAE national flag with their images and heartbeats and is a symbolic display of the unity and spirit of community we share in the UAE."

"The UAE has welcomed people from over 200 different nationalities that live here in peaceful coexistence, and all contribute to the richly diverse culture of the Emirates. We would like to invite citizens and residents alike to join us at Citywalk Mall to celebrate UAE National day, and reflect on the spirit of openness and hospitality in the UAE," added Bin Ghalaita.
