Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, today announced its collaboration with the Arab Family Organization to support its Sustainable Human Development Initiative through the Emirates Islamic Charity Fund.
The Initiative, launched in 2015 in cooperation with the Identity Branding Forum, supports the relief and development of refugees. The announcement is in line with Emirates Islamic’s ongoing commitment to support humanitarian causes in the community and alleviate the suffering of refugees and the underprivileged.
As part of a project titled ‘Crisis Economy’, Emirates Islamic will support developmental initiatives aimed at promoting a better life for refugees. The aim of this project is to open up opportunities and start projects across the Arab world that are geared towards empowering refugees and enabling their inclusion in the workforce.
Commenting on this partnership, Awatif Al Harmoodi, General Masnager, Operational Quality & Processes at Emirates Islamic, said: “We are delighted to support this noble cause that was initiated by the Arab Family Organization. We believe in the importance of civil society-private sector partnerships that result in providing vital and economic support to refugees.”
The board of directors of the Sustainable Human Development Initiative hailed the fruitful cooperation with Emirates Islamic, expressing their gratitude to the bank’s management and staff for their unwavering support to the community and their multitude of humanitarian initiatives in the UAE.
