Bank customises Emirati Visa Signature credit card to match UAE nationals’ needs and lifestyle

Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, today announced the launch of its ‘Emirati Visa Signature credit card’, which is customised to meet the needs and lifestyles of UAE National customers via exclusive privileges and offers.

The ‘Emirati’ Visa Signature credit card has been designed in collaboration with the world’s leader in digital payments, Visa, to offer exceptional value to UAE nationals taking into account their interests and preferences. The credit card offers instant and flexible rewards redemption options on Emirates Islamic’s loyalty rewards programme, EI SmartMiles. On the basis of their spends using the card, customers earn EI SmartMiles with the flexibility to redeem against shopping at any outlet or website across the globe.

Commenting on the launch of the new card, Jamal Bin Ghalaita, Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Islamic said: “As a home-grown bank, we are extremely aware of the specific needs of our UAE national customers. We are thus delighted to offer our Emirati customers a card that provides exclusive privileges and instant rewards, both in the UAE as well as abroad. We recognise the fact that UAE nationals are avid world travellers and have carefully combined a range of travel and lifestyle benefits in one card, including preferential pricing and lower foreign exchange rates.”

“The ‘Emirati Visa Signature Credit Card’ is the only card of its kind in the UAE which is free-for-life. Normally, any card that provides such a wide range of benefits and privileges has a substantial annual fee, which we have waived for our UAE national customers.”

Rizwan Jawaid, Head of Business Development, Dubai & Northern Emirates at Visa, said: “A first-to-market solution in the UAE’s payments landscape, Emirates Islamic’s Emirati Visa Signature credit card is an innovative product offering cardholders the extensive range of rewards from Visa’s signature platform along with flexibility to spend their reward points anywhere around the world. We fully support the bank’s strategy of tailoring loyalty programs to consumers’ lifestyle preferences and anticipate the new card to be embraced by its Emirati customers.”

Through an online redemption portal and a customised mobile site, Emirati cardholders will have a wide choice of instant redemption options with EI SmartMiles, including booking tickets with any airline of their choice, booking at any hotel worldwide or shopping at any outlet or website across the globe with the unique ‘Instant Purchase’ feature. The free for life card also provides free valet parking at select locations in UAE and complimentary access to over 750 airport lounges internationally. Additionally, customers receive a welcome bonus of AED 250 and can benefit from easy payment plans that convert one-time purchases into monthly instalments at a zero percent profit rate.

The launch of the ‘Emirati Card’ is aligned with the bank’s strategy to expand its retail banking proposition and deliver a high-quality customer experience across its customer base.
