Smart way to pay with Smart Pass

Emirates Islamic is pleased to launch Smart Pass - the new secure and convenient way of authorising online banking transactions without the need of waiting for the SMS Authentication Code, which is dependent on telecom operators. Furthermore, to increase your banking experience on our Mobile App, Smart Pass gives you the options to authorize transaction using your Touch ID\Face ID.



Smart Pass is part of the Emirates Islamic Mobile Banking App and it can only be activated on one smartphone or one tablet through the following steps:

Login with your username and password

Step 3
Set a 4 Digit Smart Pass PIN

Step 4
Click continue to call our Phone Banking Service to complete activation

After completing the activation steps, you can authorise your Online and Mobile Banking transactions with Smart Pass in seconds, through an encrypted and highly secure mechanism.

Mobile

Instead of entering the SMS Authentication Code, you will be asked to enter the Smart Pass PIN to authorise transactions. It’s that simple! If you are not registered to Smart Pass, you will continue to use SMS Authentication Codes.

Online

If you are registered to Smart Pass, you will also be able to authorise transactions that started from the Online Banking Portal, without having to depend on SMS Authorisation Codes. A notification is sent to your mobile device where Smart Pass is activated and after entering the Smart Pass PIN on the mobile device, the transaction is authorised.


If you didn’t receive the notification, you have an option to generate a Smart Pass token by just entering your Smart Pass PIN on your mobile device, and then type it on the Online Banking screen.

What is Smart Pass?

Emirates Islamic Smart Pass is a transaction authorisation method which ensures more security and convenience for Online & Mobile Banking transactions. With this new level of security, you do not need to wait for SMS Authentication Codes anymore to authorise your transactions. Smart Pass enables you to authorise your transactions with Smart Pass PIN which you define in the Smart Pass activation process.

How can I start using Smart Pass?

To start using Smart Pass, you need to activate Smart Pass on your mobile device. For activation, go to Smart Pass menu on your Emirates Islamic Mobile Banking App and follow the instructions on the screen.

Is there any fee for using Smart Pass?

Smart Pass is a free of charge service. Data fee due to utilisation and activation of Smart Pass will be charged by your operator.

Can I use Smart Pass and SMS Authentication Code together?

No, you cannot use Smart Pass and SMS Authentication Code together. When you activate Smart Pass, you will be authorising your transactions by entering your Smart Pass PIN. To use SMS Authentication Code, you need to deactivate your Smart Pass on your device.

I forgot/blocked my Smart Pass PIN. How can I reset it?

If you forgot / blocked your Smart Pass PIN, you need to re-activate your Smart Pass through Smart Pass menu on your Emirates Islamic Mobile Banking App. You can re-activate your Smart Pass PIN by selecting Forgot PIN / Re-activate.

I don't want to use Smart Pass anymore, how can I deactivate Smart Pass?

You can deactivate your Smart Pass through the Emirates Islamic Mobile Banking App, Online Banking or Phone Banking.


  • To deactivate through Mobile Banking App, you need to select Smart Pass Menu, enter your Smart Pass PIN and select Deactivation.
  • • To deactivate through Online Banking, you need to log into Online Banking, select Smart Pass menu and select Deactivation. Enter the Smart Pass token generated by entering your Smart Pass PIN on your mobile device, and then type it on the Online Banking screen.

What should I do if I my device is lost or stolen?

If your phone is lost or stolen, you need to deactivate your Smart Pass through Emirates Islamic Phone Banking.
To deactivate through Phone Banking, you need to call 600 599 995 and connect to an agent for deactivation.

I will start using a different mobile device. How can I use Smart Pass on my new device?

You need to activate Smart Pass on your new device. The Smart Pass configuration on your old device will be deactivated automatically.

Can I use Smart Pass on multiple devices?

Smart Pass can be activated on only one mobile device or tablet.
