Emirates Islamic Switch Cashback Credit Card is a Visa Signature Credit Card that allows the cardholder to earn cashback on all Qualifying Transactions based on the category type selected by the customer – Travel or Lifestyle. The cashback earned can then be redeemed as a payment to the card outstanding due if any or used for multiple options like Mile transfers, Gift vouchers, instant purchases, Flights, Hotels & much more.

Cashback means an amount in AED, earned on Qualifying Transactions in the selected category type at the rate decided by the Bank from time to time at its absolute discretion.

Choosing the Lifestyle category enables the customer to earn accelerated cashback (rewards) in the ‘Lifestyle category’ spends defined by the bank. This includes domestic spend categories classified by the Bank such as Supermarket, Dining, Fuel & Education are termed as Lifestyle categories.

No, you earn cashback on all your spends, the aforementioned categories only provide accelerated cashback based on the category type chosen by you.

Qualifying Transactions for a given calendar month are based on the posting date and not on the transaction date. Cashback is calculated based on the reward category chosen during the calendar month and credited to your EI Rewards Cashback wallet within 3 working days of the following calendar month subject to the minimum calendar month spend of AED 2,500 being posted in your card statement for the respective calendar month.

An annual fee of AED 299 (excluding VAT) is chargeable on the Card from year 2. The charge will be automatically waived if retail spends on the card in the last 12 months exceed AED 30,000. Retail spends do not include, balance transfers, cash on call, cash withdrawals, fees & charges and/or quasi cash transactions.

Yes, you will be required to achieve a spend of AED 2,500 posted to your card statement for the respective month to be eligible for cashback for the transactions during the month.

There is no maximum limit for Cashback earning, however, there are sub limits assigned to certain merchant categories. Please refer to the Cashback earn grid in accordance to the reward type for further details.

The transactions executed using the Supplementary Credit Card(s) shall be considered to determine the monthly total spend achieved by the primary account holder and the Qualifying Transactions within the reward categories shall earn cashback at the rate applicable.

Cashback earned will be available for redemption in the Cashback wallet available on the EI Rewards App/portal.

It is the Cashback account maintained by the Bank for each customer and which contains the accumulated Cashback amount - net of cancelations, lapses, forfeitures and expiry - and available for redemption by the customer.

Cashback can be redeemed through the EI Rewards Mobile App or Website for statement credits, Miles exchange, voucher purchases, flights, hotels, gadgets and much more. Please note a minimum Cashback balance of AED 300 is required in the Cashback wallet before redemption can be initiated.

The Bank may take up to three (3) working days to credit the Primary Cardholder’s account with the Cashback redemption amount requested from the date of receipt of the redemption request. On redemption, the Cashback would automatically be deducted from the available balance in the Cashback wallet.

Cashback available in the wallet will have an expiry of 24 months from the date of credit. The Bank may at its sole discretion amend or change the period of expiry with appropriate notification to the Cardholder.

The Cashback earned can be redeemed upon the choice of the customer to the Credit Card account and will be applied directly to the outstanding balance of the card and will be counted towards the minimum monthly payment on the Card.

Cashback that was not redeemed prior to the cancellation of the Card will be forfeited.

Switch between Lifestyle or Travel spend categories anytime during the month using the EI Rewards App or www.eirewards.ae. The spend category selected during the calendar month will be applicable for rewards computation for that particular calendar month and will remain applicable for the following months if not changed. The category selected will continue in the subsequent months for earning unless changed using the EI Rewards portal. For example, on 15 March 2024, the reward category was changed from Lifestyle to Travel category, the rewards for the month of March 2024 will be calculated and credited to the wallet on 2 April 2024 based on the travel category. In April 2024, the Travel category will continue as the choice of Cashback earning unless changed on or before 30 April 2024 and so on.
