Mr. Al Qassim has more than 20 years’ experience in the banking industry, currently serving as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC, and Chairman of Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC, Emirates NBD Egypt and DenizBank A.Ş Türkiye.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of Wasl Asset Management Group, responsible for leading its transformation into a world-class asset management company. He is also the Vice Chairman of Dubai Real Estate Corporation.
He holds several other positions which include Chairman of Dubai Sports Corporation, and Vice Chairman of Dubai Autism Centre and Director of Emirates Telecommunications Group Company (Etisalat), DIFC Investments LLC, Dubai International Financial Centre Authority and Itissalat Al-Maghrib (IAM) MAROC Telecom.
His professional and vocational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance and a Master’s degree in International Business Management and in Executive Leadership Development.
Mr. Al Mulla has over 34 years of professional experience that spans the banking, finance, real estate, hospitality, and investment sectors.
He is Chairman of Mohamad and Obaid Al Mulla Group, a Dubai-based market leader in key strategic economic sectors, including hospitality, healthcare & pharmaceuticals, real estate, travel & tourism, and investments.
He has been the Vice Chairman of Emirates Islamic Bank since 2007 and holds several other positions which include Chairman of Dubai Insurance, and Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC, Emaar Properties and Dubai Refreshment Company.
Due to his roles as the Chairman and Board Member of various companies, he has extensive experience and expertise in business development, strategic planning, human resources, remuneration, corporate governance, ESG and commercial and Islamic banking.
He holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Newberry College in Boston, USA.
H.E. AlHashimi is the Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs. Part of this role involves leading the process of articulating the UAE Leadership’s Vision, setting an ambitious long-term strategy for the implementation of “We The UAE 2031”, and advising on all government strategies and transformative programmes prior to their approval at the Cabinet. She is a member of the Future of Technology Policy Council at the World Economic Forum.
She led the setup and leads the operations of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation. She also leads the Government Accelerators Centre and the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program at the Prime Minister’s Office and is responsible for governance and institutional restructuring.
She is a Director of Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC since 2022 and holds various other positions which include Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC, the Digital School, UAE Gender Balance Council, Dubai Women Establishment, Rashid and Latifa School and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University.
She holds a BSC degree in Business Administration from the Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE. She is also an alumnus of London Business School, and a Policy Fellow at the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge, UK.
She completed the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development Programme and received a Certificate from IMD for Board Governance.
Mr. Obaidalla is Senior Vice President – Relationship Development and Local Affairs, Customer Affairs and Service Audit department for Emirates Airlines.
He has extensive professional experience in the Commercial Operations Department at Emirates Airline and contributed to the success of launching various destinations, such as Amsterdam, Prague, Madrid, Geneva, Copenhagen, St. Petersburg, Dublin, Barcelona, Mexico, and Lisbon. Prior to this role, he was Senior Vice President – Aeropolitical and International Affairs.
He has a proven track record in operational excellence, financial and credit oversight, and strategic planning. He has been a Director of Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC since 2019 and is also a Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC.
He holds a Business Administration degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, USA.
H.E. Al Hussaini is the Minister of State for Financial Affairs, with a mandate for managing the strategic direction and financial policies to maintain the interests of the UAE at local and international levels. He brings over 25 years of professional experience across the banking, finance, insurance, real estate, telecommunications, retail and investment sectors. He also serves in leadership roles supporting federal and local government in diversifying sovereign wealth and managing significant investment portfolios, both regionally and internationally, and has also led and overseen a number of mergers, acquisitions, and other financing transactions for the public and private sector.
He has been a Director of Emirates Islamic Bank since 2011 and holds several other positions which include Chairman of the Etihad Credit Bureau, Acting Chairman of Emirates Real Estate Corporation, Vice Chairman of Emirates Investment Authority and the Federal Tax Authority and Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC, Investment Corporation of Dubai and Dubai Real Estate Corporation.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Business from Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Al Ali is Managing Director of Al Ali Property Investments, where he is responsible for overall strategy and corporate planning, including policy planning, budgeting, annual reports, resource allocation, and quality management.
He has extensive professional experience, particularly in directing and controlling company operations and providing strategic guidance across the company’s divisions, including real estate, hospitality and maintenance.
He has been a Director of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC since 2022 and is also a Director of Jebel Ali Cement Factory and Emirates NBD Asset Management.
He holds a Business Administration degree in Public Administration from the American University of Sharjah, UAE.
Mr. Nelson is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Emirates NBD Bank P.J.S.C. His solid experience, across various functions and geographies, is a testament to his diverse background within banking. Prior to joining Emirates NBD, he served as CEO of Standard Chartered Private Bank in Singapore, Chairman of Standard Chartered Saadiq Advisory Board, and a board member of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Ltd.
His other previous high-profile positions include Regional CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Middle East and North Africa, Chairman of Standard Chartered (Pakistan) Limited, and Chairman of the Banking Advisory Council to the board of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Malaysia Berhad.
He has been a Director of Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC since 2013 and holds various position which include the Chairman of Emirates NBD Capital PSC, Director of Emirates NBD Capital Ltd., Emirates NBD Global Services LLC (formerly Tanfeeth LLC), DenizBank A.Ş. (Türkiye), Marsh Emirates Insurance Brokers and Member of the Advisory Board of University of Wollongong, Dubai.
He is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Managers.
Emirates Islamic Internal Shariah Supervision Committee ("Shariah Committee")
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahim Sultan Al Olama was a professor of jurisprudence and its fundamentals at the College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain until his retirement in 2022, in addition to being a certified expert in financial affairs concerning compliance with Islamic Shariah principles. He is an expert in many jurisprudence councils. He was also a member of the Shariah Board of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). Notably, he led the Shariah committee at the Zakat Fund in the United Arab Emirates.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahim Sultan Al Olama has published books and articles on various jurisprudential topics, particularly Islamic banking in its contemporary form. He has also presented a series of research papers in various international forums and conferences related to this sector. He is a member of several Fatwa and Shariah supervisory boards for Islamic financial institutions and Takaful companies. These include Emirates Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Watania Takaful, Mawarid Finance Company, NBD Islamic, Commercial Islamic Bank of Dubai, and Mashreq Bank.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahim Sultan Al Olama holds a PhD in Comparative Islamic Jurisprudence from Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Elgari, Professor of Islamic Economics at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Former Director of the Center for Research in Islamic Economics, at the same university.
He is an Expert at the Islamic Jurisprudence Academy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic Jurisprudence Academy of the Islamic World League. Dr. Elgari is also a member of the Board of Trustees and Shariah Board of AAOFI. He is Chairman of the Practical Committee of the Al Qassimia University Award for Islamic Economics Research.
Dr. Elgari is also chairman and member of numerous Shariah boards of Islamic banks and Takaful companies, In Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, Europe and America.
He has authored several books in Islamic economics, banking as well as finance and has published tens of articles on the subject, both in Arabic and English. Dr. Elgari is also a frequent speaker at conferences.

He was born in Makkah, and graduated from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he obtained his first university degree. Then he held a PhD from the University of California, and post-graduation he specialized in Islamic banking.
Dr. Amin Fateh holds a bachelor’s and Master’s in honorable Hadith, and a PhD in Islamic studies. He has been part of the Islamic Banking industry ever since its early stages in 1988, initially contributing to the Shariah compliance function of Kuwait Finance House. Across the years he has work with many of the most prominent Shariah scholars in the field. For more than a decade he has lead Islamic Shariah advisory Minhaj. He is currently a member of a number of Shariah Boards and committees in UAE and across the world, including ENBD-Islamic, EIB and the AAOIFI Shariah Committee in UAE. He lectured in many universities and is a profound bilingual Islamic Finance trainer who has provided many Islamic Finance training courses across the world.
Dr. Salim Ali Al-Ali works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Shariah and Islamic Studies at the College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University, where he teaches a spectrum of courses related to Islamic law and Islamic banking. He is PhD holder in Financial Law from the University of London in the United Kingdom. Dr. Al-Ali was also a part-time lecturer at the BPP University based in the UK.
Moreover, he is the Chairman of the internal Shariah Supervisory Committee for HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, and Abu Dhabi First Bank Group.
He participated in a number of international conferences on various issues pertaining to Islamic financial products, and the legal and governance of Islamic financial markets, held at Harvard University and the University of Cambridge.
Further, he is a member of the internal Shariah Supervisory Committee for a number of other Islamic financial institutions.
Dr. Muhammad Qaseem is a well-known Shariah scholar and Islamic banking expert. He is a member of the Governance and Ethics Board of AAOIFI. He is also a member of the ISSC of Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, ENBD and some other institutions. Dr. Qaseem has served the Islamic banking industry since 2005 in various capacities such as Shariah Board member of Central Bank of Pakistan, DFM, ADCB and many other Islamic banks.
Dr. Qaseem has taught in International Islamic University of Islamabad for more than 2 decades. He has contributed immensely to the growth and regulation of the Islamic banking industry in various capacities. He has also made valuable efforts for dissemination of Islamic banking knowledge through lectures, training sessions, seminars, conferences and workshops. He has written numerous articles on Islamic banking issues and developed policies and manuals for Islamic banks.
