Apply for a cheque book

All Emirates Islamic cheques have a QR code and an MICR code-line to prevent cheques from being reproduced by fraudsters. If you don’t specify a beneficiary on the cheque, or if you make a cheque payable to ‘cash or bearer’, there’s always a risk that anyone will get hold of the cheque and cash it.

If you apply for a cheque book within the first six months of opening your account, you will receive our standard cheque book with 10 leaves. If you have had an account with us for more than 6 months, the number of leaves in your cheque book will be issued based on your banking segment.

The processing and clearing time for cheques depends on the type of cheque and the channel used.

No, you will need to apply for a new cheque book, which you will receive within 3 to 5 working days. It is best to do this when you still have a few leaves in your old cheque book.

If you suspect that a cheque has been lost or stolen, you need first file a police report for the lost or stolen cheque and then visit one of our branches with the police report to place a stop payment order on any cheques that have not yet been presented. Other documents may be required at the Bank's discretion.

No, we only issue cheque books in AED. To issue a cheque in another currency, you can request a demand draft.
